Job Description
Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.
Job Role Summary
Fathers and Families Center is an independent not-for-profit corporation that is affiliated with Eskenazi Health. The mission of Fathers and Families Center is “To build a noble legacy of fatherhood – assisting fathers in achieving self-sufficiency and in strengthening families to improve the life chances of children.” We accomplish this by working with participants to be better partners, providers, and parents for their families.
The Vice President of Administration will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for facility maintenance and infrastructure, finance, marketing/communications, fund development, grant solicitation and management, research and evaluation. The position is a part of the senior leadership team that drives the overall strategy for the organization and represents Fathers and Families Center on a local, regional, and national level. The Vice President of Administration will focus on the following three areas: leadership and management, operations, and resource development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
•Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the Administration team.
•As part of the leadership team, facilitates the development and implementation of organization’s strategic plan and annual program work plans including legal compliance.
•Plans and coordinates annual budget process for review and approval by President/CEO.
•Ensures consistent quality of communications and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve administrative and organizational goals.
•Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.
•Work with staff to develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality project management and effective, efficient data collection and systems.
•Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
•Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and monitor and evaluate results.
Operations
•Direct the organization’s operations, financial management, facility maintenance and
improvement project activities, including IT infrastructure and safeguarding of properties.
•Monitor foreseeable security risks, and work with the leadership team to maintain emergency plans, including emergency preparedness and strategies to maintain operational continuity.
•Collaborate with the Vice President of Programs and Partnerships to develop, implement, and monitor effective systems for reporting, compliance, and billing.
•Oversee the preparation of annual financial reports and audit. Review reports to ensure they are compiled properly, including appropriate notes to the financial statements.
•Oversee coordination of legal activities including various insurance policies, leases, contracts, and other legal documents; as well as coordination of agency policies with Eskenazi Health.
•Oversee and ensure compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and reporting.
•Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance Fathers and Families Center’s brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences.
•Oversee development of all print communications including the annual report, marketing collateral materials and electronic communications including website and new media; manage relationships with associated vendors.
Resource Development
•Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement Fathers and Families Center’s financial strategy.
•Actively work with the leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive and diverse development strategy to include individual donors, corporate, foundation, government grants and contracts.
•Oversee development and execution of all proposals; write and archive all proposals with a long-term relationship-management approach.
•Ensure that all grant reporting and funding requirements are met.
•Oversee research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position Fathers and Families Center ahead of major funding changes or trends.
•Monitor all donor information; provide and present statistical analysis to the leadership team.
•Develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating new donors and deepening ties with current donors.
•Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program.
•Coordinate research and evaluation efforts to position Fathers and Families Center as a thought leader in the field of responsible fatherhood.
•Provide leadership and coordination for all major fundraising and/or special events
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree required with 7 years of experience in effective nonprofit management and 5 years of supervisory experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of both management and supervisory experience.
- Valid Indiana driver’s license.
