ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

The EarlyWorks Family of Museums includes the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum and Constitution Hall Park.

EarlyWorks Children’s Museum is a hands-on, interactive science and history museum for children. It’s a place for play, creativity, and dreaming. Visitors are encouraged to touch, climb, pull, and explore through a dozen exhibit spaces. Children between the ages of 2 and 12 will have the most fun at the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum. Alabama Constitution Hall Park is a great gathering space or event venue with wide clean sidewalks, ample lighting, and two retail outlets, currently housing a gift shop and a local tea company.

Both Earlyworks Children’s Museum and Alabama Constitution Hall Park are owned by the City of Huntsville and governed by The Earlyworks Board of Directors. The board is appointed by the Mayor and City Council to provide governance for the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum, Alabama Constitution Hall Park, and the Historic Huntsville Depot. Board members are appointed for 3-year terms and have a 2-term limit. There are nine members. The board is authorized to operate the facilities as historical and educational museums to serve the people of the City of Huntsville.
