Oversee the daily operations of student accounts receivable and cashiering functions. Responsible for daily bank deposits and distribution of student refunds.
Specific Position Duties
- Provide excellent customer service to students, parents and staff.
- Investigate and resolve student billing concerns.
- Answer inquiries regarding student account issues.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Student Accounts clerical staff.
- Supervise the Student Accounts functions, including tuition and fee billing and collection, room and board billing and collection, cash disbursements of refunds and residual financial aid to students, balancing fee receipts and cash on hand.
- Build and Maintain the administration functions of the Student Touchnet system.
- Reconcile and prepare daily bank deposits. 8.Bill outside Agencies for student fees.
- Manage printing and mailing and/or electronic delivery of monthly student account statements.
- Coordinate efforts to maximize collection of student accounts prior to payment deadlines and census date deadlines.
- Work closely with other student services offices, including Wrangler Express, Financial Aid, Student Housing, and Records Office.
- Work closely with external collection agency to ensure timely transferring of accounts.
- Manage all aspects of collections on non-current accounts.
- Monitor and make monthly reports on student account receivable balances.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree.
- Accounts receivable experience.
- Experience in handling cash and preparing bank deposits.
- Ability to complete multiple and complex tasks with the highest degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication, management and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interact with individuals on all levels.
- Strong computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet, etc.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; ability to draft and edit correspondence and other written materials.
- Ability to convey financial information in a clear and understandable manner to a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to make sound decisions.
- Ability to remain professional at all times; organize and prioritize work assignments with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment; demonstrate flexibility to changing situations and priorities.
- Ability to process related paperwork; recognize and correct errors and accounting discrepancies
Work Hours
Typical: Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 5:30 and Friday 8:00 - 1:00 Summer hours: Mon - Thurs 7:30 - 5:30 closed FridaysPosting Number
